GHADIR (Resources Sharing Project)

Ghadir Project of “Resources Sharing”

Library’s pervasive membership has been set up since June 22^nd, 1999 to create direct and verbal accessibility to librarian resources under the coverage of ministry of culture and higher education. Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology  is the coordinating organization of the Ghadir project among the centers which has determined some regulations and rules for this project which all centers and libraries have to execute them. Ghadir is a solution with which demanders by joining it can refer to the member libraries of this project directly and use all of their services. Since the central library and information center is the connecting bridge of other libraries and regarding the information explosion age and increment of human’s knowledge and libraries’ limitation in buying resources, all informative needs of users can’t get prepared so this center has joined this project and is as its representative. The central library and information center of Ferdowsi university of Mashhad is the source library.

How to Use the Ghadir Project

In order to use the Ghadir project, after signing up on the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology website, the member’s information is sent to the central library and information center of the university  to Ms. Saleh Abadi and the project executer will permit members to pay electronically after verifying the information validity. It takes about 3 weeks to 1 month from the membership request to preparation and sending the membership card to the library which as the card issued and sent to the central library and information center, the concerned member is informed via E-mail. Ghadir Project’s Conditions

Users : All higher education students (MA, PhD) and faculties (official and contract) of Ferdowsi university can use this project.

Amount of the Ghadir Project

Each applicant by joining this project make commitment to carry out the followings:

• ·         All regulations of the Ghadir project which are announced to member when signing up must be followed.

  ·         All regulations and administrative affairs of the target libraries and subordinate organization which are used must be followed.

  ·         Bailment standards at the time of borrowing book from library must be followed.

  ·         All probable damages caused to the libraries’ resources providing the services must be compensated.

  ·         The membership card must be preserved and the consequences of any kind of probable abusing of them must be taken.

  ·         If the received card get is lost, the project executer must be informed immediately.

•       The received card must be returned when liquidating.

Ghadir Project’s Liquidation

All students at the end of their education or dropping the university and transferring to another university and also staff and professors and others at the time of disassociation with the university like retirement have to liquidate with the university. Members should refer to the source (the joining location) and request for liquidation in addition to delivering the membership card. If the membership card has been lost, the responsibility of delay in liquidating which may take up to 3 months must be taken by the member.
